Last week we wrote about the new PPC platform that Myspace came out with, called “Find Your Fans.” This program allows music artists to place banner ads (either their own or from Myspace-provided templates) on the profiles and pages where their defined target audience are likely to be browsing. Advertising musicians pay $0.25 per click.

“Find Your Fans” requires a review and approval from Myspace, so we had one of our team apply for the program with his band’s profile. After Myspace finally approved the band, we went in and took some screen shots:

Log in at http://advertise.myspace.com/landing.html and click “get started.” You’ll be brought to this page.

You are prompted to either upload a banner ad or build an ad using one of Myspace’s templates. Banner ads must be 728 x 90 pixels in size.

When you click on either option, a legal agreement box pops up:

Next, you get to choose from a variety of fairly hideous banner templates:

And then you input your band name, picture, etc. (or upload your own banner). At this point you’re taken to the target audience definition page. You can specify the gender, age range, country/state/region, interest categories, and genres that define your target:

Next you put in your budget. As mentioned, all clicks cost $0.25 regardless of anything.

Next, you review your banner and campaign details. Here’s the banner we made (shrunk down a little):

Then Myspace asks you for your credit card number, which we will not give you a screen shot of…

Here is what the dashboard looks like:

There is an alerts section, a report graphing account performance, and then campaign summary details at the bottom.

The campaign page is pretty simple, and you basically edit your settings in the same way as you edit your myspace profile details. Click the “edit” button next to what you want to edit, some input boxes come up, etc. You have to actually pause your campaign in order to edit anything in it.

So that’s an inside look at Myspace’s new PPC program, “Find Your Fans!”

On June 30, Myspace Tom sent out a mass email to member musicians concerning the new Myspace pay per click ad sales program beta

The program, called “Find Your Fans,” allows artists to pay for ad space on the most popular social network in the US.

Advertising musicians can choose where ads will be shown, displaying their ads to individuals whose profile matches the artists’ specifications. Myspace provides a variety of pre-built templates in which advertisers can add their own text, images and logos. Additionally, artists may upload their own ads to run in their campaign.

Myspace is using a flat cost per click model, where each click costs 25 cents, and advertisers set a maximum budget up front.

“Find Your Friends” is currently testing in beta. Ads must be approved by Myspace’s team before they can run, and participants must be invited by Myspace after applying to be part of the beta test for the program.

We applied for the program with one of our employee’s myspace band accounts, and we’ve been waiting for over a week to hear back from Myspace. When we do, we’ll update the blog with screen shots and a walk through of the program.

I feel like I never Stumble enough but I finally hit 1000 sites that I like! I rarely give a thumbs down unless I really really don’t like a site…and I probably stumble 5 times for every 1 thumbs up I give…so that means I viewed/read/looked at 5000+ pages via StumbleUpon over the past year!

I truthfully feel like I learned a lot from stumbling. Here are a few places I did not know about until I Stumbled:

Popurls

The Art of War – Sun Tzu – Entire book (possibly illegal due to copyrights but awesome!)

Free Websites Performance, Availability, Traffic Monitoring – awesome for making sure thousands of landing pages are always LIVE

And many, many more – 1000+ more!

David Szetala from Clix Marketing started a rapidly growing Facebook Group called the PPC Pro People.

PPC Pro People already hosts an audience of almost 500 individuals and we’re honored to be a daily roundup provider to the group. Each day, our roundup posts will be edited, truncated, and reposted to the group so they can stay up to date on some of the most interesting things going on in the industry.

If you’re on Facebook, look me up and add me as a friend – simply search for James Zolman. I’m pretty sure that I’m the only one out there.
